My Weekend Projects

Just wanted to take a few minutes and show you one of my weekend projects.

While we were on our anniversary trip, I got the idea to create a photo collage of our name - Harrelson. So while Randy was fishing, I went exploring for letters. From trees that looked like letter to sticks and rocks in just the right formation. Some letters were harder to find than others - R being one of them. I found all the letters, got them printed when we got home, and then came the task of putting them together in a collage.

Since Harrelson is 9 letters long, I had to look for a long skinny frame. I thought I found one that would work and since they were on sale 50% off this week, Randy & I went to Hobby Lobby to get it. Turns out, the longest one wasn't long enough. We priced the custom frames, but the price was way too much. So after much deliberation, this is what I came up with:

What do you think? It still is a work in progress. The pictures are all twisting a little to the left because of the ribbon. Got to find a way to make them all lay flat. The borders are just some scrapbooking paper I had on hand. I figured this would be a easy way to change out the theme if we ever decide to decorate differently. The rod is just one of the expandable curtain rods.

I also found 2 wall shelves that I am painting black on clearance for $4, a cool "H" that I think will look great on one of the shelves. And Mom, I'm finally painting the mirror you gave me. You'll be excited to see it when it is finished.

So that was my weekend. How was yours?

Very cool, but it's really hard to see! Can you put a picture up that will let us enlarge it and appreciate it more?
